A few years ago I stumbled across one of Lisa Eldgridge’s Youtube videos. I knew next to nothing about makeup at the time, but quickly fell in love with her talent and charm. I must have watched every video she’d done in the span of a couple weeks. After cleaning up there I started branching out and exploring the rest of the Youtube and beauty blogging community.
At the same time I was struggling with what direction to take in terms of work and schooling. I was attending university, but feeling pretty indifferent about it… and feeling guilty about feeling indifferent. In my avoidance of academics, I found myself spending increasingly more of my free time watching makeup tutorials on Youtube. Eventually I bit the bullet, left university and began attending makeup school. I loved it. I loved having the opportunity to be creative and to be among people with the same interests. However, after I left I wasn’t really sure how to practically apply my passion.
Eventually, after a lot of umming and ahhing and encouragement from friends, I started Bloomin’ Rouge. And damn I’m happy I did. It’s allowed me the opportunity to delve into what I enjoy – discussing makeup and skincare products, creating makeup tutorials and writing how to’s on various topics such as blog designing and photography.
If you’re interested in learning a little summin summin more about me I’ve got a fairly serious post on what blogging means to me and a rather more lighthearted post on 10 facts about myself.
So please, take a gander around and feel free to check out my Bloglovin’ profile if you’d like. Goodness I’m generous. Thank you.
